My Intercession

“Our Father in Heaven,
Please bless Your people today,
And don’t allow the enemy,
to lead us into temptation.
In Jesus’s name I pray.”

By: ElRoyPoet, 2022

“I believe the Lord allows Satan to sift overconfident, self-reliant Christians in particular. They boast, ‘If the enemy ever tries to bring me down, I’ll trample him in God’s power. I’ll chase him out of my life with the Word. The devil can’t touch me.’
I hear this kind of boasting from pulpits all across America. Of course, I agree we have victory over Satan by faith in Jesus’ work on the cross. Yet, at one time or another, every Christian faces sudden, surprising siftings and never realizes the devil is behind them. Movements are taking place constantly in the spiritual world that we know very little about. We’re not to be ignorant of the enemy’s devices.
Perhaps right now you’re facing a deep trial, an unexplainable shaking. You’re being turned upside down, inside out, and you think it may be because of some evil in you. Yet, the whole time, it’s Satan, sifting you like wheat, by God’s permission. When we’re being sifted, Satan injects into our minds every evil thing in his demonic arsenal. And he makes us believe these awful thoughts originated in our own hearts, rather than in hell. It’s a trial so hellish and despairing, Christ won’t let us enter it without giving us his oath to pray us through. Beloved, our own sifting ends when we can say to the devil, ‘My Savior loves me unconditionally, through all my sins, because I’ve returned to his love. Moreover, he’s convinced me that, even though I’ve failed him, he knows I still love him with all my heart. So, you can’t rob me of that anymore, devil. I won’t allow you to tell me otherwise. I love Jesus, and he knows it.'” Excerpt from: The Sifting Process

“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” Bible, Ephesians 6:12

“The safest road to hell is the gradual one—the gentle slope, soft underfoot, without sudden turnings, without milestones, without signposts.” By: C. S. Lewis

Sweet Surrender

Who will love me
when I’m not in my right mind,
when I’m not able
to love you in return?

Who will hear me,
when I have nothing—
worth listening to;
when I don’t even understand,
what others say and do?

Who will care for me
when I’m not able
to care for myself—
not even someone else?

It could occur today
or maybe in the future,
but why would I worry—
isn’t this what I signed up for?
Didn’t Jesus say:
“I will love you forever”.

“I am giving you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, so you too are to love one another. By this everyone will know that you are My disciples, if you have love and unselfish concern for one another.” Bible, John 13:34-35

“Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don’t get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes.” Matthew 6:34

“I eagerly expect and hope that I will in no way be ashamed, but will have sufficient courage so that now as always Christ will be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death. For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. If I am to go on living in the body, this will mean fruitful labor for me. Yet what shall I choose? I do not know! I am torn between the two: I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far; but it is more necessary for you that I remain in the body.” Philippians 1:20-24

“Ignorance breeds fear. We fear those things we don’t understand. If we don’t put a lid on that fear and keep that fear in check, that fear in turn will breed hatred because we hate those things that frighten us. “If we don’t keep that hatred in check, that hatred in turn will breed destruction.” By: Daryl Davis

“Don’t be naive. There are difficult times ahead. As the end approaches, people are going to be self-absorbed, money-hungry, self-promoting, stuck-up, profane, contemptuous of parents, crude, coarse, without compassion, unbending, slanderers, impulsively wild, savage, cynical, treacherous, ruthless, bloated windbags, addicted to lust, and allergic to God. They’ll make a show of religion, but behind the scenes they’re animals. Stay clear of these people.
These are the kind of people who smooth-talk themselves into the homes of unstable and needy women and take advantage of them; women who, depressed by their sinfulness, take up with every new religious fad that calls itself “truth.” They get exploited every time and never really learn. The Message Bible, 2 Timothy 3:1-7

“Do not allow this world to mold you in its own image. Instead, be transformed from the inside out by renewing your mind. As a result, you will be able to discern what God wills and whatever God finds good, pleasing, and complete.” Romans 12:2

“moral grandstanding can be defined as ‘the use and abuse of moral talk to seek status, to promote oneself, or to boost your own brand.’ A moral grandstander is therefore a person who frequently uses public discussion of morality and politics to impress others with their moral qualities. Crucially, these individuals are primarily motivated by the desire to enhance their own status or ranking among their peers.
Let’s face it: Moral grandstanding seems to be everywhere these days. As clinical psychologist Joshua Grubbs notes, “Perhaps, just perhaps, part of the reason so many of us are so awful to each other so much of the time on here is related to a desire to show off to like-minded others. In essence, sometimes we behave poorly in an effort to gain the respect and esteem of folks like us.” Excerpt from: Are You a Moral Grandstander?

The Joy In My Soul

I want to matter;
I want to stay relevant.
I keep on talking,
I keep on…

I’m running out of days.
I’m a shooting star,
I’m fading fast,
I can’t stop…

Generations come
and generations go.

How do I make an impact?
How do I keep on living?
Only through you
my eternal child.

Commentary: The crisis in the world today is that instead of embracing a new spiritual life, like we were designed to do, people are trying to get as much pleasure out of an aging physical body, for as long as they can. Subsequently egotistical adults refuse to grow up. It it true that people without convictions are prone to depression when they become aged and sickly. However that is no excuse for the obsession with “trying to remain forever young”; this preoccupation of “not wanting to become old” was never supposed to hijack our eternal purposes. That’s why our Creator in His Infinite Wisdom designed us to age gradually so that we could transition into spiritual mature beings gracefully.

“Finally, believers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable and worthy of respect, whatever is right and confirmed by God’s word, whatever is pure and wholesome, whatever is lovely and brings peace, whatever is admirable and of good repute; if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think continually on these things and center your mind on them, and implant them in your heart.” Bible, Philippians 4:8

“Love is not affectionate feeling, but a steady wish for the loved person’s ultimate good as far as it can be obtained.” By: C.S. Lewis

Prideful

There’s a battle raging in my mind,
For my brain has chosen guilty pleasure,
Instead of being kind.
My flesh wants to live,
And it will sin,
To not be left behind.
Because my heart’s wounded,
And my spirit’s in a bind.

Who can help me,
Or is spiritual war, my only fate?
Will too many heathens have to die,
Because I chose to hate?
Is my life, too small to matter,
Or is His Grace, even Greater?
I pray, He heals my soul,
Before I must surrender!

“As seriously dangerous as pride is, it’s equally hard to spot. When it comes to diagnosing our hearts, those of us who have the disease of pride have a challenging time identifying our sickness. Pride infects our eyesight, causing us to view ourselves through a lens that colors and distorts reality. Pride will paint even our ugliness in sin as beautiful and commendable.
We can’t conclude that we don’t struggle with pride because we don’t see pride in our hearts. The comfortable moments when I pat myself on the back for how well I am doing are the moments that should alarm me the most. I need to reach for the glasses of Christ-like humility, remembering that nothing good dwells in my flesh, and search my heart for secret pride and its symptoms.” Excerpt from: Seven Subtle Symptoms of Pride

not born this way, bent that way

Having someone to love
gives you pleasure.

Having someone to love,
who is forbidden—
be it physical or virtual,
gives you a guilty pleasure.

But which one
gives you more satisfaction?

The one who lasts longer
in your mind—
pleasure monger!

Commentary: Humanity has reached great heights in its pursuit of technology and philanthropy. However men in the past, present and in the future, can also denigrate into depravity, if they choose instead, to surrender to their innate desires. Humans can also succumb to codependent and hypochondriac disorders which distort their sense of reality. In order to combat mankind’s immoral inclinations, civilized society must erect cultural safety rails around their communities; these social norms must be enforced by the family, school, church and state. When citizens have liberty without responsibility, the consequences of their wanton behavior eventually spirals the community out of control. Cases in point: 1. Drug addiction creates overdose fatalities and depression; 2. Gun proliferation facilitates mass murder and hyper-criminalization. 3. Sexual deviancy tears the fabric of society and impedes the continuity of the species. Be warned, the Bible is very clear about what happens to a nation,, when people break the laws of nature: Total annihilation, just like what was experienced by the cheaters in the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah.

“You already know enough. So do I. It is not knowledge we lack. What is missing is the courage to understand what we know and to draw conclusions.” By: Sven Lindqvist

“There is no “queer contagion” sweeping the nation. What we are witnessing is simply a new era of openness and possibilities. Young people who in the past never had the words to describe their feelings, or who knew what they were but felt coerced into remaining closeted, are now more able to freely express themselves. People who have had same-sex experiences on occasion—who have always outnumbered people who exclusively identify as gay or lesbian—are now more comfortable explicitly calling themselves bisexual. People who in the past would have felt too afraid to experiment with their gender or sexuality for fear of the stigma that might entail may now be more willing to explore those potentialities.” Excerpt from: It’s time to rethink “born this way,” a phrase that’s been key to LGBTQ acceptance

“’JUST SAY NO’ to taboo experimentation, because just like illicit drugs, after you try it for the first time, you might like it, but by then it’s too late to go back, because you’re already addicted.” By: P. Bondsman

“Freedom of thought, should not translate into slavery of the body. Reprobate minds have hijacked human decency under the guise of civil rights. That’s why gay activists hide behind the 1st amendment—hoping their contemptuous speech won’t be chilled; just like gun activists hide behind the 2nd amendment—hoping their radical gun obsession won’t be discovered.” By: P. Bondsman

“Do not allow this world to mold you in its own image. Instead, be transformed from the inside out by renewing your mind. As a result, you will be able to discern what God wills and whatever God finds good, pleasing, and complete.” Bible, Romans 12:2

“What causes fights and quarrels among you? Don’t they come from your desires that battle within you? Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” James 4:1,7

In For The Long Haul

“This will take the steam out of your kettle! At the end of the day, you’re either a geezer or geezette. So why not try–to get along–before you get moved to the back burner?” By: ElRoyPoet, 2020

“Passion and commitment are widely believed to be the foundation of strong romantic relationships. But a relationship is made of two unique individuals, and personality traits these individuals possess or lack can often make a relationship more likely to endure… Humility appears to be a huge asset to relationships. One study found that people tend to rate this quality highly in their significant other. It also found that someone who is humble is more likely to initiate a romantic relationship, perhaps because they’re less likely to see themselves as “too good” for someone else… The ability to forgive is so important because pain is an inevitable part of any relationship. People mess up. They might say something they don’t mean, be unknowingly inconsiderate or forget an important event. So when looking for a partner, it’s probably a good idea to find someone who recognizes that making mistakes is part of being human.” Excerpt from: This Trait Could Be Key to a Lasting Romance

The science behind, why some couples stay together and why some don’t make it: When a child is born, the mom naturally bonds with her offspring. Ironically not all moms are able to nurture their children into ideal family relationships. It could be, because of her upbringing that she doesn’t know how to, or circumstances beyond her control (i.e. fatigue, illness, absent partner, etc.). The other factor that comes into play, is the adolescent’s development years and as a result, when they graduate from school, there is a lot of history and certain innate tendencies, that are not easily outgrown, even into maturity.
Consequently, when these young adults start looking for a partner, they are faced with 3 personality types:
1. The “Anxious” who make up about 20% of the population and are overly preoccupied with their partners and whether they love them back.
2. The “Avoidants” who make up about 25% of the population and resort to distancing strategies, to discourage attachment, because it might result in a loss of independence.
3. The “Secures” who make up about 55% the population, these are comfortable giving and receiving love and gravitate towards partners with the capacity to make them happy.
Anxious and avoidant types are drawn to each other, despite their incompatible styles: as the person seeking closeness works harder to get it, their avoidant partner pulls away, thus reaffirming their separate beliefs that relationships are unfulfilling or restrictive. Secures are usually unavailable, because they are already in a relationship. However, the single ones can happily partner with anxious and avoidant types, and even have a steadying effect on them, by helping their partners realize there is no threat.
In conclusion, it’s the normal people who save the day, because only they can neutralize the toxicity in people, (feelings of rejection or standoffish). This is one arena where being different really doesn’t pay off, because the love relationship is old school and will be for generations to come. So, striving to be normal will never go out of style and who knows you might even get lucky! Excerpts from: The attachment secret: are you a secure, avoidant or anxious partner?

“Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?” Bible, 2 Corinthians 6:14

christian nationalist

The failure of white evangelicals is that they can’t even restore morality in their churches, but still insist they can restore morality to our nation—that’s why they call themselves ‘christian nationalist’. It’s like ‘putting the cart—before the horse’, tragically the only direction they’re pulling us—is in reverse. They should call themselves ‘nationalist christians’ instead, because they’re hoping the government will fix their lack of faith by legislating a state religion.

Analogy: Before we were born there was a rebellion in heaven. God’s First Born said: “I will help all those who choose to go to earth, to return to heaven by bringing them the gospel, then they can decide for themselves if they will believe”.
Lucifer then countered: “let me be their leader and I will make sure that they all return to heaven. I will force them to obey and none will be lost”.
On earth many liberal leaders said: “we were all born with unalienable rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, and in order for that to transpire, we must also be freeman”.
Then several christian nationalists leaders contended: “wouldn’t it be easier to make all the citizens obey the law, by taking away their freedom—even though we will not allow them to exercise their first amendment rights, we will trick them into believing that they do, and if any protest, we will punish their insubordination”.
Then God said: “I will send the First Born, because they already have their free agency, and no one should be allowed to take away, what I have already given to them”.
The morale of the story is that any demagogue who attempts to take the people’s liberty away, is obviously in collusion with the devil.

Read: Jesus Christ, Our Chosen Leader and Savior

“We (the founding fathers of our nation) hold these truths to be self-evident (these truths are universal and non-debatable), that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights (these rights are equal for everyone, because they have value in our Creator’s Eyes), that among these are Life (you have the right to live), Liberty (you have the right to freedom) and the pursuit of Happiness (you have the right to choose for yourself).
Even though we don’t all agree with each other about the Bible. The Declaration of Independence is broader than that and acknowledges that there is an expected gratitude and accountability to God. However, America needs to be warned: Since the right to attain life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness is tied-in to our Creator, we can’t remove God from the equation. Otherwise, we won’t have a basis for our right to expect life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness in our children’s future!”

Conscientious Objector

I’m a man of compassion,
not of micro-aggressions.

I’m a bridge builder,
not a community wrecker.

I love peace and love,
I hate war and hate.

I’ve been around the world—
my plight is still the same:
there’s predators, chemicals,
catastrophes and disease—
all are out to get you,
so why would I add to these?

Kind words lead to living—
fighting words to a dead end.

In 1948, the issue of the right to “conscience” was dealt with by the United Nations General Assembly in Article 18 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. It reads: Everyone has the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion; this right includes freedom to change his religion or belief, and freedom, either alone or in community with others and in public or private, to manifest his religion or belief in teaching, practice, worship and observance. The proclamation was ratified during the General Assembly on 10 December 1948 by a vote of 48 in favour, 0 against, with 8 abstentions.

Three Temptations That Destroy Community

Climate Change

I’ve traveled across many galaxies.
I’ve seen stars glow bright
And others go dim.
It’s also been my experience,
That a sun burns hotter,
Before it burns out.
I’ve even seen frozen planets
Swallowed whole,
By the very same darkened hole.

“First, this energy is not clean, green, renewable or sustainable. The sheer numbers of wind turbines, solar panels, and vehicle and backup batteries defy imagination.
President Biden intends to eradicate coal and natural gas for generating electricity, gasoline and diesel for powering vehicles, natural gas for smelting and manufacturing, and natural gas for heating, cooking and water heating in homes, hospitals, schools and businesses.
This would send America’s annual electricity requirement to almost 7.5 billion megawatt-hours per year by 2050. That’s nearly three times the fossil fuel portion of today’s U.S. electricity generation. It would require tens of thousands of wind turbines, billions of solar panels and billions of half-ton backup-power battery modules – sprawling across America…
But the turbines would require millions of tons of raw materials from hundreds of new mines – steel, aluminum, copper, fiberglass, concrete and others, whose extraction, processing and refining are energy- and land-intensive and highly polluting…
Moreover, every increase in “green” energy makes the United States more reliant on China which, like Russia, increasingly wields its energy, mineral and economic power as a weapon, to keep its client countries in line, dependent and subservient. Every increase makes us more complicit in slavery, eco-colonialism, environmental degradation and climate injustice.”

Commentary: Corporations and their government sympathizers are using global warming disputes as a smoke screen to hide the fact that we have a real air pollution problem (smog). They are framing global warming as fake news in order to kill 2 birds with 1 stone (global warming and pollution). They are hoping that the global warming alarmist, politicians and concerned citizens, will eventually tire of debating a no-win proposition. Those die-hard activists that do remain emotionally invested in the discussion will have no choice but to step up their efforts and become militant. The problem with this approach, is that while we are debating whether global warming is real, we are inadvertently overlooking any possible solutions to the underlying cause of the rise in atmospheric temperature. Ironically, instead of wasting our breath by arguing about a global warming problem that we cannot fix; we should instead be concentrating on improving our national air quality and protecting our communities from man-made pollutants.

“As for you, my flock, this is what the Sovereign Lord says: ‘I will judge between one sheep and another, and between rams and goats. Is it not enough for you to feed on the good pasture? Must you also trample the rest of your pasture with your feet? Is it not enough for you to drink clear water? Must you also muddy the rest with your feet? Must my flock feed on what you have trampled and drink what you have muddied with your feet?'” Bible, Ezekiel 34:17-19
